Chalise begins his interview describing his upbringing and early education in Nepal, how he chose to study at UNMC and his current research focus. He shares his first impressions of Omaha, the cultural differences with personal and working relationships in the United States and his involvement with the Nepalese community. Chalise discusses the International Student Association including its aid to new students, its background and events during International Week. Chalise describes his personal involvement in the International Student Association, the goals of the organization and the COVID-19 pandemic’s influence on the group. He concludes his interview describing his hopes for organizational funding, particularly with regards to the Breaking Barriers event.
