Fell begins her interview describing her background, education, and how she ended up at UNMC. She gives an overview of the Medical Laboratory Science program, describes how she was hired to expand the program to other sites in Nebraska, and how that was accomplished through a Health and Human Services grant. She details distance education, the challenges they faced, partnerships with other states, and relationships she built through traveling. Fell discusses how the Distance Education Division created colleagues across the state and how technology advanced in distance education. She describes her experience with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and working in Africa with the PEPFAR program. She reflects on the leadership opportunities she had throughout her career. She gives an overview of the student lab experience and reflects on her experience working with students. Fell discusses the consolidation of the College of Allied Health Professions into Bennett Hall, the increase in grants during her career, and how technology is changing student labs. She reflects on the future of the program, awards she received, and important mentors in her career. Fell concludes her interview discussing retirement and the importance of distance education in Nebraska.
