Rogan begins her interview by describing her background, education, and coming to UNMC. She details UNMC's research focus in the Eppley Institute and in the College of Public Health as well as how it has evolved on campus. She discusses starting the College of Public Health and the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health as well as her other leadership roles within the college. She describes the significance of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) grant. Rogan details her experience as a woman serving on the Faculty Senate and the adoption of the health profession appointment status for tenure. She reflects on her mentors, students, teaching, and awards she received. She discusses her view on success regarding students. Rogan concludes her interview describing the estrogen carcinogenesis group meetings organized by the National Cancer Institute, her personal interest, and retirement plans.
