Brown begins his interview describing how it felt to start at UNMC as an “outsider,” different administrative roles he held and a particularly favorite practical joke he played. Brown details clinics and volunteer initiatives in Lincoln and around Nebraska that he participated in, the effects of COVID on those clinics and the logistics of working across the state. He details the Advanced Standing Program and how it helps recruit faculty as well as is a benefit for students. He discusses being involved with the Special Olympics and his preference for administrative roles over teaching and research. Brown describes the Extended Program and mentoring struggling students and his participation in accreditation. Brown concludes his interview reflecting on his life of service.
